The Lazar Method: how we actually reset the system

1:00:00Audio
Episode briefing

Last week Dr. Lazar named the problem: the system most people live inside wasn't built to ask why they feel the way they feel. This week he walks through the answer. The Lazar Method is a five-phase framework — measure, identify, clarify, correct, restore — and this episode covers what actually happens in the office, what gets measured before anyone is touched, what "reset" means, and why the part most people have been missing isn't more care. It's clarity.

  • You're not broken. Your nervous system is responding to interference that no one has measured.
  • Five phases, in order: measure, identify, clarify, correct, restore. The sequence matters more than the names.
  • We look for what's interfering, not just what hurts.
  • Restoration isn't a feeling. It's function returning, measured again after each correction.
  • The goal is restoration, not retention.

“Reset is not fixing. We're not changing you when we work together. We're removing what's pressing on your nervous system so it can do what it's already trying to do.”

Show notes

Where last week left off

If you've worked hard at your health and still feel stuck, it isn't your fault. It's a missing-information problem, not a discipline or willpower problem.

What "reset" means

Not building a new nervous system or changing the wiring — removing what's been compressing it so the body can do what it's designed to do.

Phase 1 — Measure

Three nervous system scans (thermal, surface EMG, heart rate variability) plus Posture IQ and Digital Motion X-ray. Most people have never had their nervous system measured. You can't reset what you've never measured.

Phase 2 — Identify

Pain is information. The goal is to find what's interfering — the structural cause underneath what you feel — not just where it hurts.

Phase 3 — Clarify

A 16-page Insight Report of your own data, walked through page by page in plain language. For most people, this is the part that's been missing.

Phase 4 — Correct

QSM3 upper cervical correction: gentle and specific, no popping, cracking, or twisting. One correction, calculated from your structural imaging; the rest is left alone because it's downstream.

Phase 5 — Restore

Measure again after each correction. Restoration is function returning, and the numbers show it. The goal is restoration, not dependency.

What forward motion looks like

Usually not one dramatic moment but a series of small shifts — and people finally stop blaming themselves.

Dr. Lazar exposes what's broken, challenges the system, and gives you real answers you won't hear anywhere else. Same mission, same fight, bigger platform. And now, here's Dr. Lazar. Last episode I told you why you've tried everything and still don't feel right. Today I want to walk you through what we actually do about it. The question we ask first when somebody walks into my office is probably one you've never been asked before. That's where I want to start. If you missed the last episode, here's the short of it. The system you've been navigating, the one you've spent time and money in, and the one you've been trying to follow isn't actually built to ask you why you feel the way you feel.

built to manage why you feel what you feel and those are two very different things. So if you've been working hard at your health and you still feel stuck, I want you to realize you don't need to be carrying that around like it's your fault because it isn't. You've been doing your best with information that has never been designed to get you well. I want to say something else because I think this matters. You've heard me say it before and I'm gonna keep saying it. You're not broken. Your nervous system is doing exactly what it's supposed to do. It's responding to interference. The problem is no one's ever measured that interference.

That's a missing information problem. It has nothing to do with your discipline or your willpower or how smart you are or how much research you've done. So when somebody asks me what changes when you actually look at the right thing, here's exactly how I answer it. Reset is not fixing. We're not changing you when we work together. We're removing what's pressing on your nervous system so it can do what it's already trying to do. That's the whole idea. Everything we do is built around that one sentence. We call it the Lazar Method.

Five phases, measure, identify, clarify, correct, restore. And I'm going to walk you through all of them. If you're just joining us for the first time, this is the Dr. Lazar Show. You can reach us at 734-274-5107. You can call or text. That's directly to the office. you want to call into the show that number is 866-521-WELL 866-521-9355 and we're here to deliver truth and today we're talking about exactly how we do that. If you are interested in any of the information while we're talking we can send you a free self-assessment.

If you text the word truth, TRUTH to 734-274-5107, will respond with a self-assessment. That can be completely anonymous. If you want us to go over things with you, we're happy to do that as well, but we want to make sure that you've got the information you need. So the Lazar Method, five steps we discussed. number one is measure. We start by measuring your nervous system. Three scans. Thermal, surface EMG, heart rate variability, plus Posture IQ, plus Motion X-ray.

Most people have never had any of those done. Not once. Sometimes not in 20 years of being in the healthcare system. You can't reset something you've never measured. Then we identify what we're looking for is not necessarily what hurts. We're looking for what's interfering, for what's in the way, the structural cause underneath what you may be feeling. See pain is information and we follow it back to where it's coming from. That's very different than how we're used to having that done. Step three is we clarify that's when we sit down and we show you exactly what we found.

We also provide a 16 page comprehensive report of your own data. We walk through that with you in plain language because we think it is really important that you understand exactly what's going on with your health. Now this part is the part that's been missing for most people. They've had care for sure and they've had appointments and they've answered and asked questions but they've never had clarity. Once we do that then we correct and after all of that we make the correction upper cervical, gentle, specific. We're not adjusting everything, we're certainly not manipulating anything, we're correcting the one thing that's been interfering with your nervous systems function which controls your body as you know and we've then free that up and then we allow the rest of your body to do what it needs to do.

We leave the rest of it alone. Not because it's not important but because it's downstream. Then we restore. We measure again. Restoration is not a feeling, it's when function returns and we can show you those numbers. That's the difference between feeling better for a couple days and actually getting better. Here's what I see when people go through this process. Things start to make sense again, which is huge. They get their footing back, the frustration that they have and not having answers that starts to lift. They stop blaming themselves for not being able to push through something or be tougher even though they were never given the right tools to do that.

Now I'm not promising that. I'm just describing the pattern we've seen over the last almost two decades. It tends to show up once that interference is gone. In fact, you'll hear us say that nature needs no interference. God's creation needs no interference. I'm sorry, it needs no help. It just needs no interference. So if any of this is landing for either two ways you can take this further. If you want to see what we actually look at, what we measure, why it matters, what's been missing in your own health, text the word truth to 734-274-5107. Again, you text the word truth to 734-274-5107.

We'll send you what most people never get to see. And if you're ready to sit down with somebody and have it explained directly, then book a clarity call. 20 minutes, no commitment, you walk away understanding what nobody's bothered to tell you. Those clarity calls are with our team and we offer those as a service to our listeners. So feeling better is not the goal. Getting better is. Staying well is. Feeling alive is. And that only becomes possible once things finally start. Call and speak with Dr.

Lazar at 866-521-WELL. That's 866-521-WELL. Welcome back to the Dr. Lazar Show. We're talking about the Lazar method because not because we think what it's called is important but it's how we get the results that we get for people and we think you deserve. If you missed the last episode here's the short of it again. I spent the whole conversation trying to make one point clearly. This system you've been navigating. It's called the healthcare system but really it should be called the sick care system and not in a negative way.

It's just that's where you go when you're sick, not necessarily where you go when you want to be healthy. That system you've been navigating, the one you've spent time and money in and specialist after specialist and appointment after appointment, the one you've been trying to follow, it's not built to ask you why you feel the way you feel. It's again built to manage the way you feel and those are very different things. So you've been working hard at your health and you're doing all the right things but you still feel stuck. Again that's not your fault. You've been doing your best with information that was never ever designed to get you well.

So I get I get a version of this question a lot. People sit down across from me and And they've been to seven different doctors and they have a binder with tabs in it with their test results. And they say something like, I just need somebody to tell me what's actually going on. And what I've come to understand after nearly 20 years of being inside this healthcare system in one form or another is that's not a small ask. That actually is the whole thing. In my experience, people don't want a different prescription. They want an explanation. And if you can get them results, that's great.

But they want somebody to look at them and say, here is what's happening. Here is why this is happening. Here's what you can actually do about it. If you think about asking for directions somewhere, the first thing you need to know and they need to know is where are you calling from? If you say, hey, I need to get to Hawaii, great. Where are you right now? the instructions to get to Hawaii from Detroit are very different than the instructions to get to Hawaii from Sydney, Australia. So where you are right now, you are here on the map. That is what's missing and that's what we're super proud to be able to offer people all over the world actually.

We give you the you are here on the map so you know what's going on and what you need to do next. And we tell you what you can actually do about it. Sometimes that's with us and sometimes it's not. We're okay either way, we just want you to have clarity. Most of the people I see have been under care somewhere for years and have never ever ever been given that. And I want to say something else because I think it matters actually before I go any further that again you're not broken. I can't tell you how many times people come in here assuming they're just broken and messed up.

And you can assume that if you want it just doesn't help you any and it's not true. I know how often the opposite message has been delivered to you. Sometimes it's by people who didn't even mean to deliver that message. But you're not broken. Your body is not malfunctioning. Your nervous system is not betraying you. It's doing exactly what it's designed to do. It's responding to interference. The problem is no one has ever measured that interference. Let me give you an example. If you got a phone call from me and I said to you, hey I need your help. I'm really out of breath.

You might be concerned about that and that would makes sense, but at some point you should probably ask me what I was just doing. And if I say, well, I was running, okay that might explain why I'm out of breath. But what if I say I wasn't running at all, I just climbed up a flight of stairs, and I can normally climb up a flight of stairs without any trouble, and I'm having trouble. Would it matter to you if I was in Breckenridge, Colorado, at 10,000 feet above sea level. That should matter because I'm not getting the same amount of oxygen I'm used to getting and my body hasn't acclimated to that.

So of course I feel slow and sluggish and out of breath. But that doesn't mean there's something wrong. My body is doing exactly what it should be doing by adapting to that environment. That's a missing information problem because if you don't know I'm in Breckenridge and you start giving me all these other treatments and options and telling me I have COPD or pulmonary fibrosis or doing all these x-rays all these studies it's not going to get us anywhere because what's missing is that information that I'm in Breckenridge Colorado at 10,000 feet. Now that sounds frustratingly simple it's honestly not much more complicated than that.

And the results you get when we have the right information, that has nothing to do with discipline. It has nothing to do with willpower. It has nothing to do with whether you've tried hard enough or not. I see people every week who are some of the most disciplined human beings I've ever met. They're convinced they're failing at their own bodies, their own health. But they're not failing. They're navigating a body that's been adapting to something nobody ever found. Let me describe what I mean. The body is constantly adapting. That's its job when something is off and I mean you know really off structurally at the level of how the brainstem corrects the connects to the rest of your body.

Your nervous system doesn't sit there and quit. It compensates. It works around it. So you stay alive. It pulls energy from places it shouldn't have to pull energy from just to keep you upright and functioning. For a while that works. For some people it works for years. They feel a little tired or they have a little tension or they're sleep okay-ish or something. Things are manageable or they're just getting older. But then the system runs out of room. The compensation that your body is able to do because you're fearfully and wonderfully made will reach its limit. And now symptoms start to show up.

Sleep goes, energy goes, headache starts, anxiety creeps in, digestion gets weird, you start feeling foggy, nothing on the standard panel of lab work comes back abnormal though. So you go to the doctor and they do the blood work and they check the basics and everything looks fine and they tell you're stressed or you've got kiddos at home or you should just sleep more or that's just how life is at your age and then you walk out of the office with the same problem you walked in with. Plus a little bit of self-doubt added on top of that.

Not that's what they're trying to do it's just that's what you're being told and this isn't anybody being lazy. Like the doctor's not dismissing you, at least on purpose. They're working inside a system that wasn't built to ask what is the structural cause of this. It was built to rule out disease, which is a good thing, and manage symptoms. But those are different jobs. And if your problem is structural, if you know if it's coming from interference in the upper neck, the upper cervical spine that's affecting your brainstem function, there's no test on the standard panel that's going to find that. They're not even looking there.

We miss a hundred percent of what we're not looking for. That's why kiddos with neurodevelopmental challenges do so well because we're removing that interference and now they can grow and develop the way God designed, not with that interference. So this isn't a failure of medicine, it's it's just a description of what medicine is set up to do. And as you know I'm not anti-medicine, I have a deep respect for what conventional medicine does well. You know, if you have an infection and you need an antibiotic, I'm glad they're there. If you're broken, if you've broken a bone, you need an orthopedist. If you have cancer, you need an oncologist.

The system was built to address those acute identifiable, remember, codable diseases, diseases with a code that they can do a service to get paid for. And within that lane, it does extraordinary work. What I'm talking about is the problem lying where people are listening to this don't have acute identifiable, codable diseases. They have something else, something that doesn't fit the model. And when you don't fit the model, the model doesn't have a way to help you. It doesn't adapt. That's not anyone's fault, that's just the shape of the system. And you and I aren't going to change that.

So when somebody asks me what changes when you actually look at the right thing, I answer it exactly this way. I'm going to take a short break and I'll be back right after this. Be on the radio. Call Dr. Lazar with your question now. 866-521-WELL. That's 866-521-WELL. Welcome back to the Dr. Lazar Show. If you have questions, you can call us at 866-521-WELL. 866-521-9355. If you're watching this on social, you can leave a comment below and we'll do our best to answer those.

If you want information about what we're looking for, interested in doing a self-assessment, you can text the word truth to 734-274-5107. 734-274-5107. If you want to skip that and you want to talk to somebody on our team, we'd love to offer you a free clarity call. It's where somebody on our care team will go through and answer questions, see what's going on, and make recommendation about whether this approach is the right fit for you. Just text the word clarity to the same number 734-274-5107 or leave the word clarity below in the comments if you're watching this on social.

Now people ask what we do about that and my answer is always the same. We reset it. We reset the nervous system. We don't fix the nervous system. I actually don't have the ability to fix the nervous system. The only thing that can fix the nervous system is you. God created you to heal and regulate. We just allow that to happen. So we're not fixing it, even though it feels like it, we're actually resetting it. Remember we're not changing you. We're removing what's pressing on your nervous system so your nervous system can do what it's already trying to do.

It's trying to heal well. I want to sit on that for a minute because that's the heart of everything I'm gonna tell you today. Most of health care or sick care is built on a fixing model. Something is wrong therefore we add something, a medication, a supplement, a procedure, a therapy to make it less wrong. That can be useful and sometimes it's the right call but it certainly isn't the only model. And if you've been doing that model and you're not getting the results, maybe the horse is dead. Maybe you're not going to win the race that way.

Sometimes the model is to take something away. You've got a part that's not working well, so we'll just remove it. There's another model though, and that's the model we work in. See the body is already trying to be well. It's been trying to be well the entire time. Its capacity to repair, regulate, adapt, heal is enormous and it's already engaged. It's already trying. What the body is dealing with is not an inability to respond. It's not that it's broken. What it's dealing with is interference. When the rest of the world says come for this intervention model, we say actually let's not wait until it needs intervention.

Or if it needs intervention let's have that only happen once and then let's keep checking that on a non-interference model. Let's keep looking for interference. That's like doing a scan on your computer before it crashes. Brushing your teeth, going to the dentist before it's this horrific cavity. Things that have gotten in the way of the body's own intelligence are the things that are holding it back. Those come from thoughts, traumas, and toxins. physical, chemical, emotional distress. And when we remove that interference and the body picks up where it left off, it doesn't need to be taught how to be well. It already knows how to do that.

It just needs the obstacles gone. You know, water wants to flow downstream. But if there's a tree that fell and it's blocking that flow of water, there's nothing wrong with the water. There's nothing wrong with the stream. It's not that it doesn't know where it wants to It's that there's interference there and we find that interference and remove it and I know how simple that sounds It sounds too good to be true Too simple to be true. I get it, but that's what I mean when I say reset isn't fixing Because we're not building you a new nervous system. We're not changing the wiring We're letting the wiring do what it's already designed to do We're just removing what's been compressing it So everything we do at Lazar Spinal Care is built around that one sentence.

That's the Lazar Method. I touched on it briefly in the first segment. Those five phases. Measure, identify, clarify, correct, restore. The sequence matters more than the names because if you have a recipe that's the right recipe with the right ingredients, you can make amazing things. But if you take a cake mix and then you put it in the oven and then you take it out of the oven and then you add milk and eggs. You have all the right ingredients but the order is wrong. When we come back I'm going to talk about the order of those and how that can benefit you and the people you love.

This is the Dr. Lazar Show. I'll be back right after this. Welcome back to the Dr. Lazar Show. Thanks so much for tuning in. If you're listening on the radio we appreciate that. You can call with questions 866-521-WELL. We'll do our best to answer those on air. You can also text us the word TRUTH to 734-274-5107 and we'll send you a free self-assessment. You can take that if you have questions about it. We're happy to go over that with you, but we don't have to. You're welcome to just take the assessment and do what you want with that information. It's our way of serving you.

If you want to skip that part and you want to see if this care specifically is right for you, text the word clarity to 734-274-5107 and we'll send you a link you can schedule a clarity call. With somebody on our care team we don't charge you for that for being a radio listener and it's another way we can add value let you know whether this is an appropriate approach for you to look into. So with it was our method, the first thing we do is measure. Remember we have to identify where you are on the map, so to speak.

And so before we do anything, we check your posture, we measure your nervous system. Now, most people in 20 years or so of being in this healthcare system have never had their nervous systems actually measured. Now this is huge because if you take nothing else away from anything you've ever heard from me, take this away. Your nervous system controls every organ in your body. It controls every tissue, every gland, every cell, every system, it allows you to adapt to your outside environment.

So that a different way it controls your heart rate, It controls your blood pressure, your digestion. It controls your immune system. It controls how you sleep. It controls your hormone balance. And most people have never had their nervous systems actually measured. Maybe you've had your knee hit with a reflex hammer, but as far as measuring how that system works, most people haven't. They've had their blood pressure taken. they've answered questions on a symptom checklist, but none of that is measurement of nervous system function.

So we use three scans. We use infrared thermography, surface EMG, heart rate variability. Then we do a Posture IQ analysis. We do motion X-ray, full spine X-ray to see the structure of your spine and how it's moving. because we can see movement problems, aberrations are what those are called, way before it shows up in a static x-ray, an x-ray where you're not moving, which is what you'll get everywhere else. Now our infrared thermal scan looks at autonomic regulation along the spine. That's the part that controls blood vessels, glands, organs. And so the areas we measure when they show there's a temperature difference more than a half a degree Fahrenheit or where regulation has dropped off that tells us where your system is working against that interference.

We also do a surface EMG measurement that tells us the electrical activity that are telling the muscles what to do along the spine. It's like an electrician would check wires. Healthy muscle tone has a certain pattern of nerve information, but compensation has a very different pattern and we can see that in the data. And then heart rate variability gives us a window into how well your autonomic nervous system is recovering between heartbeats. Low variability in this context tells us that the system is stuck in a defensive posture. You're stuck in defense physiology.

Now let me speak on that a second because we were designed to be in defense physiology for a few minutes if a bear is chasing us. But we weren't designed to be in defense physiology for decades. Like we are in our society. So now when we're in a defensive posture we can measure that and that's actually more telling than people realize. A lot of people know I've got a shoulder lower or an ear lower than the other or a leg shorter than the other. A lot of people know that, but they don't know what a big deal that is.

The body doesn't lie about how it's holding itself up. Looking at you from the side if your head is forward, that's a problem. If one shoulder is low, that's a problem. Ladies tend to know this because they'll fix one bra strap, the same bra strap every time. If the pelvis is rotated, that's data. That's the body telling you what it's compensating for. And we actually can use those patterns to tell exactly what's going on. Sometimes the knee problem isn't actually a knee problem. Sometimes it is. But other times it's because there's a global compensation, there's a breakdown from somewhere else.

And if we don't find that we're just chasing symptoms. Sound familiar? And the motion x-rays we take give us specific structural and functional information about where your head sits on your neck. The atlas, the axis, how they're sitting in relationship to the head and to the rest of your body. Most people have never had any of those done. Certainly not in primary care, not in the hospital, not in specialist visits, not in years of physical therapy. And again there's nothing wrong with those things, they're just not measuring that. And we're not telling you not to do those things, we're telling you to add this. If your results aren't where you want them to be, or if you have great results and want to function even better.

Because the world deserves you at your best. God's got you here for a reason. And I'll tell you what happens when someone sees their own scans for the first time. Most of them get quiet actually. Something in the room shifts because they've been told for years there was nothing wrong or it was anxiety or it was in their head or it was stress or the lifestyle their stage they're in or that it was their age. Dear Lord, how often people hear, well you're just getting older. And now they're looking at their own physiology right in front of them and there's something measurable.

There is something there, it's not in their head. The cool thing is this isn't me selling people on anything, it's actually just data. But the experience of finally being seen by an objective measurement after years and years of being told there's nothing to find, that's a big deal. It's often the first relief they've ever felt in a long time and we haven't even done any of the work yet but there's relief in them knowing hey I knew it there is something wrong and I'm so glad I didn't listen when they told me just deal with it you're just gonna have to deal this way you're gonna have to live this way because you can't reset something you've never measure.

That's why we start here. The next step we identify. We're gonna take a short break and we'll be back for more right after this. Welcome back to the Dr. Lazar Show. If you have questions our number is 866-521-WELL 866-521-9355. We'd love to offer you two ways to take next steps if you're interested. If you want to take a self-assessment and just see what we're testing for, you can text the word TRUTH to 734-2745107. That will send you immediately an assessment you can take right on your phone and you can see what any of the underlying causes might be.

You call that our silent breakdown because it's breaking down before you're aware that it's happening. Unless you do an assessment like this and know, oh that's what that's telling me. Another way you can go further with this is if you'd like to schedule a clarity call with somebody on our team. You can tell them what's going on, they'll answer some questions, they'll ask you some questions and they'll determine whether this is a good approach for you to look into or not. Anyway we're talking about the Lazar Method and how first we measure and then after we measure we identify.

I want to be clear about what we're identifying and what we're not identifying. We're not looking necessarily for what hurts. Now we care about what hurts but that doesn't necessarily tell us what's going on. We're looking for where there's interference. Now I see this confusion all the time. They'll come in saying my neck hurts on this left side or I get headaches here on the right side or my low back hurts over here on the right side and it shoots down my right leg. And then they expect that we'll find a problem right where that symptom is. And that's not always how the body works.

Just like the smoke detector doesn't go off right where the fire is. I mean the smoke detector is detecting smoke. The fire can be right underneath it, but most of the time it's not. See, pain shows up where the body has run out of room to compensate, but the cause can be somewhere else entirely. So what we're looking for is that structural cause. The interference, often at the top of the spine, that's affecting how signals move between the brain and the rest of the body. The atlas, or C1, that top bone in your neck, the one that the skull sits on, that has a unique relationship to the brainstem.

There's no disc there in that area, so the space is small and the structures inside there are critical. And when the atlas, that top bone is misaligned even by a tiny amount. In fact, we measure that to 1 fifth of 1 millimeter. That's half the thickness of your pencil lead. When there's a misalignment there, even that small amount, the consequences ripple downstream. There's brainstem pressure, there's altered signal traffic, in kiddos that might be sensory issues or concentration problems. The body adapts, it compensates, it holds itself up around that misalignment and then over time the compensation patterns become the things you feel.

So the compensations are usually the things like the headaches or vertigo or anxiety, digestive issues, sleep problems, brain fog, difficulty focusing. Now I'm not telling you the upper cervical spine is the cause of every problem in human health. We know better than that. But there are people whose primary problem is metabolic or hormonal or psychological or environmental and they might need a different kind of care also. What I'm telling you though is for the people that walk into my office, usually having tried everything else, the upper neck, the upper cervical spine, is the piece that almost never got checked. And if it's the missing piece, then that's why nothing else has worked.

So I think it's worth finding out. In fact, we say we can't help everyone, but everyone does deserve a good assessment, a good exam. Everyone does deserve to have that question answered. Hey, is this what's going on? And a good indication that it is, is if you've tried everything else and it hasn't worked, there's a very high likelihood that it's something like this. Because nobody else is looking for it. I don't know why we've tried to change that over the years. We've trained almost two dozen doctors directly, but they're all over the place.

They're all over the country, all over the world. So they're checking, but that's not many people. The way I describe it to patients sometimes is this, pain is information. It's the problem. It's the body telling you something. And our job is to follow that information back to where it's coming from. It's not to silence it or manage it. Our job is to listen to it long enough to understand what it's saying. Most of medicine or sick care is good at silencing that pain. You can take a pill, you can numb a nerve, you can do a procedure.

Those things are valuable. They have a place, but silencing the pain and resolving its cause are not the same thing at all. And if you've been living long enough, you already know that. So when we identify, we're identifying the cause. The thing that's been interfering with your body's ability to do what it knows to do. So we measure, we identify, and then the third step is we clarify. This is the phase that has been missing the most from the sick care model and it's the one that when it lands this changes everything.

After we measure we sit down with you we show you. We give you your insight report. It's 16 pages of your own data, your thermal scans, your EMG, your heart rate variability, the posture findings, the structural imaging, All of it in plain language, walks through with you page by page. And we explain it, not in jargon, not in marketing language or in oversold claims, just in crystal clear, careful, plain explanation of what's happening in your body and what we think that means for you. I think this is the part that's been missing for most of the people I see.

They've had care, they've had appointments, they've spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours. What they haven't had is anybody slow down and explain what's actually going on. There's a moment in the consultation, usually about 10 minutes in, when I see something change in the patient's posture, they've been holding themselves a certain way for a long time, defensive, apologetic, half prepared to be told it's their fault again. And then somewhere in the middle of the explanation, they exhale, they sit back. Sometimes they cry.

Sometimes they laugh. Sometimes they get angry because, you know, they've been carrying something for years that someone just explained to them a long time ago. They're a bit should have, but didn't. Clarity doesn't just show up, but it does something that compliance lectures never will. It takes the burden off you, off the patient. It moves the conversation from what is wrong with me to here's what you're seeing and here's what we can do about it. And that shift changes the relationship. It changes how the patient engages with their own body. It changes what's possible for them going forward.

And let me say something about why I think that matters in clinical terms. When the nervous system is in a defensive posture for a long time, It's exhausting. It's like running on a treadmill that never turns off. When somebody sits down and explains the data clearly, the nervous system itself starts to settle. The patient's autonomic nervous system shifts. Their breathing changes, their face softens. Some of that is psychological, some of it's neurological, but both are real and both matter. What I don't do in this phase is sell you anything. I don't tell you your care, our care will fix you, or I don't make promises about visits or outcomes.

I just tell you what it is we're seeing and what we think it means and what your options are. Then you get to decide what to do with that information. And I think there's a basic dignity that doesn't get extended to patients often enough. Tell them the truth, let them decide, trust them with their own health. What's been missing is not care, it's clarity. That's the whole turn of this episode and I want it to land before we keep moving. If you take nothing else away from today, take that. The thing that's probably been missing for you if you've been stuck is not more care.

It's somebody sitting down and explaining what actually is happening with data in front of them and language you can understand. That is the gap. And once that gets filled, a lot of what felt impossible starts to feel addressable, often for the first time. If you're just tuning in, this is the Dr. Lazar Show. We're going to take a short break. We'll be back right after this. Welcome back to the Dr. Lazar Show, we're talking about the steps we take to get your results. And the next step in our process is after we measure and identify and clarify, that is when we make the correction.

That's the part most people associate with chiropractic care, but I want to be careful about how I describe it because what we do is different from what most people think of when they hear that word. Some people are afraid to have their neck adjusted, for example. We get that. We don't pop, crack, or twist. Upper cervical care in this quantum spinal mechanic specialty, that's the procedure we use in the Lazar Method, is gentle, it's specific, there's no twisting, no popping, no manipulation of the spine, the correction is delivered in the neck using a specific contact in a specific vector calculated from your structural imaging and your posture.

The amount of force involved is really minimal. Most patients are surprised and underwhelmed by how subtle it feels. In fact, the first time I had it done in 2004, 2005 or so, I thought I was getting ripped off. It was that gentle. Because we're really not even adjusting anything. We're correcting one thing. We're unlocking it. The thing that's been interfering with brainstem function. And then we're allowing your body to do what it was designed to do. We can leave the rest alone. And here's why that matters. The body has its own intelligence as long as you're alive. When you remove the primary interference the rest of the body starts to unwind on its own.

So postural compensation begins to release. Muscles that have been holding tension for years begin to relax. The pelvis levels out, the shoulders drop, the head finds its own balance. If we try to manually correct every compensation downstream, we'd be working against the body's own process. I'm going to say that again, if we tried to correct every compensation downstream, we'd be working against your body's own process. We would be making decisions for your body. This model trusts that your body can do its own work once the primary obstacle is gone. I tell patients this often, the goal of the correction isn't to put you in a position, it's to allow your body to find its own position.

It's to unlock it so it's not stuck anymore. There's a difference between those two things and that difference matters. Sometimes the correction takes seconds. Sometimes people are confused because they expected something more dramatic. They walk out feeling about the same and they wonder if anything even happened. What we're looking for is not an immediate dramatic feeling. We're looking for measurable change over time, function returning, posture restoring, symptoms that have been compensating downstream beginning to release. That's why we measure again right after each correction, which brings me to the last phase. That's the restore phase. After the correction we measure again.

Restoration is not a feeling, it's function returning and we can show you the numbers. Here's what I mean. The thermal scan changes. The areas of asymmetric regulation start to even out. The EMG pattern shift, the compensation we saw at the start begins to release. Heart rate variability improves. Posture changes. within a few visits, sometimes over weeks. The body is reorganizing around this corrected position. That's the difference between feeling better and getting better. Feeling better can happen for a lot of reasons.

A good night's sleep, a warm bath. Those are real and they matter, but they're temporary. Getting better is structural. It's measurable. It's the body returning to a place where it doesn't need to compensate as hard. And it shows up in the data. Now, I can't tell you exactly what your timeline will look like. We can get you close, but I can tell you that we measure throughout and we'll show you exactly what we're seeing. And if someone's not improving, we'll tell you. And if we think we've reached the limit of what care can do for you, the way we do it, we'll tell you that.

We're not interested in keeping people in care longer than they need to be. The goal is restoration, not retention. Our job is to restore function and let your body do what it needs to do, not create dependency. Now, there are patients who choose to stay in periodic care because their work or lifestyle or history puts them under more interference than most. It's kind of like going to the dentist when you don't have a cavity. That's your call. We support it. The goal though is to get you to a place where your body is doing its own job and you don't need us as much.

We don't want to create a dependency. What I've seen over years of doing this is that the patients who do the best are the ones who understand what they're doing and why they're doing it. They're partners in the process. They don't need to be sold or convinced, they're already in. They've seen the data, they understand the mechanism, they know what to look for as the body changes. So restoration is a measurement. It's not a feeling, it's a measurement. We want restoration, then your body can heal and then we want you to be able to sustain that. We're going to take a short break. We'll be back right after this.

We'll answer questions, ask questions, and let you know if we think this is the right step, next step for you, and if not, we'll have suggestions for you.

We offer that at no charge for our WMUZ listeners and our followers on social. So that's the method. That's the Lazar method. Five phases, measure, identify, clarify, correct, restore. The order matters more than the names. Clarity matters more than the correction. Oftentimes the body's own intelligence does most of the work once we get the interference out. And here's what I see when people get through this process. Things start to make sense again. The story they've been telling themselves about their own body, you know, that they're broken or they're behind or they're failing at something.

Most people seem to handle just fine. That story starts to fall apart. They have data now. They have an explanation. They can see their own physiology changing. And now the narrative shifts. They get their footing back. There's a kind of forward motion that returns when somebody understands what's happening to them. They start sleeping better. There's more peace. Their headaches start to space out. Their digestion calms down. They realize one Tuesday afternoon, they haven't thought about their pain all morning. The winds are usually quiet. most patients don't have a single dramatic moment, some do, but usually they have a series of small shifts that add up to a completely different life.

They stop blaming themselves. That's maybe the most important part. They stop carrying the weight of, I should be better by now, or what's wrong with me that nothing's working. They learn the answer was structural and that the system they were ignoring not on purpose but inside them this is something they were asking for help from wasn't built to find any of that and none of that is their fault but now forward motion replaces that frustration patients tell me this all the time not necessarily in those words their own words though like I feel like I have my life back or I forgot what it was like to wake up rested I'm a better parent now.

I stopped being afraid of my body. I can make plans again without fear of having to cancel them because I don't know if it's going to be a bad day. Those are the kinds of sentences we hear after people have been through this process. Now hear my heart on this. I'm not promising any of that. I'm describing a pattern and that pattern shows up after the interference is gone. With people who engage with this process and let it work. Some people don't fit the pattern. Some people have problems that don't respond to what we're doing or they need a different kind of care or a combination of approaches or a longer timeline than they originally expected.

We're not the right answer for everyone and I'd rather tell you that up front than oversell what we do. But for the people who fit, for the ones whose primary issue is structural interference in that upper neck that's been missed for years. The pattern is consistent enough that I trust it and I've watched it unfold over and over again over the past two decades. There's one more thing I want to say before we wrap up. The hardest part of this work is not the clinical part. The clinical part is what I trained for. The hardest part is watching somebody come in carrying years of self-blame and helping them set that down.

People walk in believing that they are the problem and they walk in apologizing for taking up my time or they walk in defensive because they expect to be told again that they're just not trying hard enough or they need to lose more weight or they're not doing enough or they need to sleep more they need to relax more. What I get to do on a good day is hand them back something that's been missing. Not a treatment. We don't treat anything. Not a cure. We don't cure anything. Information, power, a clearer story about what's actually happening inside them.

And I get to watch the weight come off their shoulders. Sometimes literally when the story finally makes sense to them. That's the work. That's what I'm trying to describe today. The method is a process. But the heart of it is this, most people are doing the best they can with the information they've been given. When you give them better information, they're capable of more than anyone has been telling them before. You talk about a cool transformation that is massively powerful. If any of this is landing for you, there are two ways to take this further.

And I hope you do. I mean knowledge without any action isn't power. So I hope you take action. I hope you heard something that makes you do something different. If you want to understand what's been missing in your own care, text the word truth to 734-274-5107. Again, text the word truth to 734-274-5107. We'll send you what most people never get to see. What we measure, why it matters, what's been missing in standard care. And it's not a sales pitch. It's information. You can read it on your couch. You can decide for yourself whether any of it applies to your situation. If you're ready to chat with somebody directly and have it explained to you, book a clarity call.

20 minutes, no commitment. You walk away understanding what nobody's bothered to tell you before. We're not going to use the call to sell you anything. The point of it is Exactly what the name says. Clarity. Whether you become a patient or not is up to you. Whether you walk out understanding your own situation better than when you walked in, that's our job, regardless of what comes next. So remember, feeling better by itself isn't the goal. Getting better is. Staying well is. Feeling alive again, that is the goal. That only becomes possible once things finally make sense.

And we want to hope that makes sense for you.
